1) Diameter ⇄ Flat Width Conversion

When you know… Compute… Formula Notes
Flat Width (FW) Diameter (D) D = (FW × 2) / 3.14 3.14 is an approximation of π.
Diameter (D) Flat Width (FW) FW = (D × 3.14) / 2 Record to 1/16–1/8" before rounding.

Tip: Measuring a bag that’s already flattened? Use Flat Width and convert to Diameter with the table above.

Flat Width (FW) Diameter (D)
FW and D are interchangeable via the formulas shown. Measure FW on a flattened tube; D is the round cross-section.

2) How to Measure Bag Length (Snap Band – Top Load)

Method Reference Points What to Record
A. Center of Snap Band → First Stitch Row From the centerline of the double-bead snap band at the top to the first row of stitching on the disc bottom. Total length (e.g., 102.5"). Include bead type and top style.
B. Top Edge → First Stitch Row From the very top edge of the bag to the first row of stitching on the disc bottom. Total length in inches. Note that you measured from the top edge.

Important: Choose one method and use it consistently across all bags and future orders.

First row of disc stitching A: Snap band center → first stitch row Snap band centerline B: Top edge → first stitch row Bag top edge
Two accepted ways to measure. Use A (snap band centerline) or B (top edge) and stay consistent.
